Alex completes his eye surgery with no issues

Today, Alex went in for his eye duct surgery. It was a very early start that was delayed three hours as the equipment needed for the surgery had to be located within the hospital. It was very difficult keeping Alex entertained during this time as he woke up extra early and he could not eat until after the surgery. He hung tough until 0940, woofed down his "giggle juice" like a Chico State graduate, and fell into a deep sleep for surgery. The doctor said the surgery went very well with the eye duct opening with an audible "pop" which puts Alex in the 90% problem resolved category. His post-operation attitude is a little grumpy, but he is a tough little guy. He is already throwing balls through the house and asking for "FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFish" as a late afternoon snack.

Thank you for all of the emails, telephone calls, and words of support. It was very hard placing him into the hands of the surgical nurse, but Dr. Tong and Sutter Hospital did an outstanding job.

I have circled where the surgery took place. You can see a little blood in the corner of his eye and nose. He has a mark below his nose where he was given oxygen during the surgery.
