Alex's 18 month well baby exam

We are very fortunate. We have a very happy and healthy baby boy.

Today, Alex had his 18 month well baby exam at Dr. Burke's office. He weighed in at 21.2 pounds (9.6 kg) and stretched out to 31.75 inches (80.6 cm). He scored average on all the standard development questions except for speech. He is sticking to his vocabulary with a sprinkling of English here and there. He is most famous for saying, "ALLISON!!!" "uh-oh" "FFFFFish" and "TANK YOU." Alex was a super, duper trooper for taking his last HEP-A shot in the left thigh. I held him tight, he flinched, the nurse applied the band-aid, and we were done without a cry or tear. He is one tough cookie!

On a related note, recently, Alex has mastered a household skill of climbing up the couch and turning on/off the lights in the play room. He is very happy being near his sister and he helps us wake Allison on school days. He gets a full head of steam built up and blows through her bedroom door saying her name as loud as he can. It does wake Allison, but it doesn't get her out of bed any faster. It reminds me of school mornings with David ... many trips to the bedroom, many "let's get moving" requests, and many disappointments.
