It’s SEVEN!

ACT ONE
Alex is an early riser. He often awakes when the sun rises, which is a very early morning in June! He would be a great farmer – working the fields from sunrise to sunset. In November, we placed a digital clock in his bedroom and covered the minute’s side so only the hours would show. We gave him strict instructions. You can’t come out of your room until it says, “Seven.” To our surprise and delight, he followed our instructions perfectly. As the digital clock strikes seven, he comes down the hallway yelling, “Seven!” This happens every day without mishap.

ACT TWO
On occasion, when we have been up too late or celebrated too much, we pull a little clock trick by rolling back the clock one hour. On all occasions when we have pulled our trick, we get a bonus forty minutes of sleep. This weekend, on occasion number three, Alex came running down the hallway yelling, “Where’s seven? It’s says six! Where did seven go?” We crack up thinking we have gotten away with a bank robbery and he feels cheated that his seven is missing. It’s all great fun, we enjoy the extra slumber, and we reset the clock … for the next time.
