Backpacking 2011

This weekend, we joined the Smith family for a 24 hour backpacking trip near Clark Fork.  The 2.5 mile moderate hike was just enough to introduce the kids to the outdoors and hook them for another trip next year.  We enjoyed a few comforts from home (e.g. blanky, skunk, and Super Puppy) and made new memories for life around the evening’s campfire.  The morning air cooled into the 30’s, but our layers kept the cold out and the warmth in.  My best memory of the trip was watching Allison hike hand-in-hand with Lauren and Alex with Natalie in the final steps of the trail.
