NF Feather River hike #1

Our second family hike took us along the Pacific Crest Trail just a 1/4 mile beyond Domingo Springs campground. We headed south along the trail for one mile until we reached the north fork of the Feather River. Along the way, Alex fell hands first onto the ground, we played question guessing games, and we discussed what we would find once arriving at the river. To our surprise, we saw a handful of hikers and we lifted lava rocks to demonstrate how an air filled rock is lighter than a non-air filled rock. It was an easy and level hike unlike the hike to the Thermal Geysers.

Our view once we arrive at the NF Feather River.

We stood tall on the newly renovated bridge spanning the river. The river was still running strong and cold! The fern and grass growth was pretty and captured well in this picture looking up river.

I stood on the far side of the bridge and took a picture to illustrate the bridge's span arc and reenforced center. The weather preservation stain gave the bridge a yellow and orange tint. It was a sight to see and enjoy.
